If you’re fairly new to the Revo family or joining us for the first time, you may be wondering: What is the Big Deal about a new blue lens? Revo already makes a Blue Water lens, and it cuts glare and enhances my vision like no other lens I’ve ever worn before. Don’t worry- the Blue Water lens, and other Revo lens colors you love, aren’t going anywhere. Despite all the new and exciting things that have been happening at Revo over the past few years, there has been one recurring question coming from our loyal customers: “Where can I get the old H20 lens?” The lens being referred to is glass, cobalt-blue with a color-enhancing bronze base, and it was the most recognizable feature of Revo in the 1980’s and 1990’s- and old-school Revo fans request it to this day. We had to agree- and thus, the H20 Blue lens was reborn. Below, a primer on the subject to give you the 360.

The History: Revo lenses debuted in 1985 as the world’s first performance lens, using NASA technology to revolutionize the sunwear industry. Although the lens color palette and frame styles have evolved over the last 30 years, the backbone of Revo- the superior Light Management System™- and signature mirrored lenses have remained a mainstay of the brand and what makes loyalists come back again and again.  H20 was a glass lens with a color-enhancing blue mirror, providing a unique contrast for a variety of light conditions.  It was a smash hit, and it’s back.

The Inspiration: To create the H20 Blue lens and the new styles that debuted with it, the Revo Lens Development team looked deep into the Revo archives to draw inspiration from the most-requested styles that had been discontinued sometime in the Aughts. With the H20 and Shapes Collections as inspiration, the new frames combine a Revo heritage look with modern styling and, of course, the latest in lens technology.
